Meet Our Team

Dr. Mozzie Parker
Dr. Mozzie Parker is a native of Biloxi, MS. She attended D'Iberville High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. An active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association, she is also the past president of the South Mississippi Medical Association. As the owner of The Pet Clinic, Dr. Parker established the clinic in Woolmarket in September 2001. She excels as a diagnostician and is professionally versed in internal medicine. Individually tailoring treatments and preventative medicine to the needs of each patient and owner is her primary objective. Always wanting to stay technologically advanced, Dr. Parker enjoys exploring new and improved ways of treating animals by attending continuing education seminars whenever possible.
Dr. Tashina Elswick
Dr. Tashina Elswick is the newest member of The Pet Clinic team. She is originally from West Virginia and a recent graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. During her final year of veterinary school, she completed an internship here at The Pet Clinic with Dr. Parker and was proud to be welcomed back after receiving her degree. Dr. Elswick is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). She has a special interest in surgery and parasitology, and she previously published an article in the Journal of Veterinary Parasitology based on her thesis research on intestinal parasites in dogs. She is also interested in exotic animals and “pocket pets” and hopes to incorporate them into practice. Dr. Elswick is committed to providing the highest quality medicine to her patients, so she continuously educates herself on current topics in veterinary medicine. She lives in Gulfport with her husband and two four-legged children (a tabby named Kitty Soft Paws and a slobbery English Bulldog named Diesel). Dr. Elswick believes in treating patients and clients as members of the family, and she is very excited to meet you and your pets!
